Mast climbing - Sophie style!

When Magler was lifted after the end of the 2003 season, there was a bit of a cock-up in the yard and the topping lift ended up flying out of the mast. We were having to use the main sheet to hold the boom up so obviously no sails until it got sorted. Not being a fan of heights myself and in true Victorian tradition, I asked a good friend if he could lend me a small child to go up the mast and sort it out. His choice was his youngest daughter Sophie (who is my first cousin once removed I think) - hardly a small child by any means but very willing to help and easily hoistable. A nerve wracking event for us down below, we took some pictures which are shown here:
